
The Principal
Monica Nkrumah is the Principal of the Holy Family Nursing & Midwifery Training College (HFNMTC) at Berekum in the Bono Region of Ghana, providing academic and professional leadership at the College. Until her appointment as Principal in 2006, She was a Nurse-Midwife Educator teaching student nurses and midwives at Holy Family Nursing and Midwifery Training College.
Ms. Nkrumah has an MPhil in Administration Higher Education from the University of Cape Coast. She is also a Foundation Fellow, Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives.
Monica Nkrumah is a Registered Midwife (RM) and a State Registered Nurse (SRN). She is experienced in curriculum development and instructional design for Preceptorship and setting up of Skills Laboratory. She has been part of Master Trainers that train Trainers in Psychosocial Counseling in HIV/AIDS for Ghana AIDS Commission. She has worked as a labour ward supervisor and coordinator for the in-service training programme at the Holy Family Hospital, Berekum. While working at the Holy Family Hospital, Berekum, she formed a Quality Assurance Team and organized ward conferences and continuous professional development programmes for the health workers in the institution.
She is a member of the Ghana Registered Nurses Association, the Ghana Registered Midwives Association, the Nurse Educators’ Group, Sigma Theta Tau International, Honour Society of Nursing, Indianapolis, USA. Currently, she is the President of the Conference of Heads of Health Training Institutions. She has attended several national and international conferences on nursing, midwifery educational administration and leadership.
She currently, serves on a number of Boards and Committees including, 14th Governing Board of Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana and Committee Chairperson for Training and Examination, Techiman Catholic Diocesan Health Service Board, St. John of God College of Health Duayaw Nkwanta Board of Governors, and Chairman, Newmont Ahafo Development Foundation.
