Holy Family Nursing and Midwifery Training College (HF-NMTC), Berekum, had the honor of hosting a delegation from Sacred Heart University, USA, from October 13 to October 21, 2024. The delegation comprised two staff members and 11 students who visited the College to engage in clinical practice and strengthen academic and cultural collaboration.
The group was led by Ferrilo Diiulio Heather and Saska Elizabeth Ann, while the students were Diaz Annalisa Grace, Farley Michaela Leigh, Harris Hunter Michael, Jerue Emma Jane, Kisilinsky Emily Elizabeth, Loughlin Kathryn Hutchison, Palumbo Charlotte Lily, Rivera Brianna Ailis, Robertson Ava Carmen, Baldi Maria Jose, and Cooper Madison Lynn.
During their stay, the team engaged in clinical practice at the Holy Family Hospital, Berekum, gaining valuable insights into healthcare delivery in Ghana while sharing knowledge and skills with students and staff of HF-NMTC, Berekum.
In a gesture of goodwill and support for the advancement of healthcare education, the delegation donated an automated mannequin and nursing and midwifery textbooks to the College. The mannequin will enhance the simulation-based training offered at the College, while the books will enrich the library's resources, benefiting current and future students.
The Principal of HF-NMTC, in expressing gratitude, emphasized the significance of such partnerships in broadening horizons for students and faculty alike. "This visit strengthens the bond between our institutions and fosters mutual growth," the Principal remarked.
The Sacred Heart University team’s visit marks a milestone in HF-NMTC’s continuous effort to build international collaborations that enrich academic and practical learning experiences. The College looks forward to more partnerships of this kind to enhance healthcare education and delivery.
