THE POST BASIC MIDWIFERY PROGRAMME

The College started the Post Basic Midwifery Programme in September, 2017 for people who have completed the Nurse Assistant Clinical (NAC) and Nurse Assistant Preventive (NAP) Programme and has served for a minimum of three (3) years. The first batch of 60 students completed in September, 2019. 

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The Post Basic Midwifery programme is a four-semester (two year) Diploma programme for serving officers who have completed either the Nurse Assistant Clinical (NAC) or Nurse Assistant Preventive (NAP) Programme.

The goal of the programme is to produce a polyvalent midwife who will practice midwifery in any sector of the community.

The professional midwife would have acquired knowledge, skills and attitudes to recognize the total health needs of individuals, families and communities and participate effectively and efficiently in meeting those needs.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS


Age Limit
18 years and above.

Basic Qualification
Nurse Assistant Clinical (NAC) or Nurse Assistant Preventive (NAP) Certificate.

Period of Sevice

The applicant must have served a minimum of three (3) years in a health facility.
